Knowledge is the 5th pillar of hip hop. This conference is designed to empower artists and fans to shape ideas and goals into reality. Gain insights from local leaders to better understand Hip Hop as a musical genre and lifestyle, and discover how you can achieve success as an artist.
The 2021 Iron Mic Conference is being hosted at the PEI Convention Centre, located at 4 Queen Street, Charlottetown, PE, on Saturday, August 21st.

JOE DAMES of Xclusive Dance Crew
Presenting Hip Hop Culture & History
“Joe“ started dancing at the age of sixteen in his senior year in high school. He has actively been involved in Ballet, Jazz, Afro Beat, Breakdancing and his main Style HipHop Choreography, and became a member of The Bahamas Dance Theatre in the year 2009. He is currently the Owner and Leader of his international Group The Xclusiv Dance Crew. Joe has had the opportunity to teach all over In “The Bahamas” “The United States” as well as in Canada and also competed abroad in national compositions. He has featured in numerous music videos for Bahamian and American Artists, Holds one of the highest scores in the Bahamas for the National Arts Festival, and is heavily involved in Theatre Plays such as, “The Circle Of Life” “FAME” and “Raisin In The Sun “, Joe is Currently Choreographing with his partner The Confederation Centre of the Arts Show “Young Company”!! And is a proud father of 3 beautiful girls.

Presley Isaiah of Hometown Musik Entertainment

Presley Isaiah is a singer, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer with a plethora of experience in the music industry. In addition to his work as an artist, he also co-founded a record label known popularly on the Island as Hometown Musik Entertainment. Having produced multiple albums and extended playlists for various artists as producer “D Beat Scientist”, Presley has helped produce and deliver more than fifty single projects, two E.P projects, and two full-length studio albums. He has also co-produced on professional projects with other signed artists and has been featured on a number major broadcasting stations, such as CBC News Charlottetown.
Scott Parsons – Presenting How To Be A Career Musician
Singer-Songwriter Scott Parsons is a versatile and multi-dimensional talent whose musicianship and performance capabilities have taken him to many countries around the world. His perseverance as an independent artist is a testament to the Maritime Spirit. Parsons is a gifted songwriter, a solid musician, and an emotionally expressive vocalist with a powerful set of pipes that can take a song anywhere he wants that song to go.
Talks are focused on providing best practices and real-life experiences with the assumption that attendees have an interest in pursuing music as a career.

This session is presented by Xclusiv Dance Crew leader Joe Dames and explores the key elements that have made Hip Hop the world’s leading genre of music, as well as a cultural lifestyle that resonates around the globe.

11:30am – 12:30pm
This session is presented by two local artist management services, Transpire Music Management and Hometown Musik Entertainment, to provide insight and tips for artists to learn what it takes to make a successful musical release that gets noticed!

2:00pm – 3:00pm
This session is presented by award-winning Island musician Scott Parsons and explores a lifetime of being a career musician and what aspiring artists should know to achieve success.
